Autism Early Invention Topic of KQED Forum

All children should be screened for autism by age 2, according to a report released at an American Academy of Pediatrics conference in San Francisco Oct. 29. Though there is no cure for the disorder, some experts believe that early diagnosis and therapy may diminish its severity.

Guests joining the program to discuss the new report include Bryna Siegel, PhD, professor of psychiatry at UCSF, and Steve Silberman, writer and long-time contributor to Wired Magazine, who is currently researching material for a book on autism.
