Public hearing on draft EIR for UCSF Mission Bay Med Center

WHAT:

UCSF will host a public hearing to solicit comments on the adequacy and accuracy of information presented in the draft EnvironmentalImpact Report (EIR) for the new medical center at Mission Bay.

BACKGROUND:

UCSF plans to build an integrated hospital complex to serve children, women and cancer patients on a 14.5-acre parcel south of UCSF’s existing 43-acre biomedical campus at Mission Bay. The new complex will allow UCSF to increase inpatient and outpatient capacity to meet growing patient demand, address old and outdated facilities at its Parnassus and Mount Zion campuses, and comply with state-mandated earthquake safety standards for hospitals.
