UCSF STROKE SERVICE OFFERS COMPREHENSIVE CARE

The UCSF Neurovascular Service, also known as the UCSF Stroke Service, provides comprehensive, personalized care for stroke patients and people at risk of having a stroke.

The Stroke Service was established in 1995 by the UCSF Department of Neurology to provide comprehensive care to patients with life-threatening disorders of the brain's blood vessels and nervous system diseases severe enough to require intensive care.

The service also provides evaluation and management for people who have had a stroke or are at-risk of stroke. The Stroke Service has a specialized outpatient unit that provides stroke risk assessment, as well as care and rehabilitation of stroke patients.

The UCSF Stroke Service draws on the expertise of neurologists, neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons and neurointerventional radiologists. The Stroke Service has the most up-to-date equipment to diagnose, treat and study neurological disorders and stroke. For more information call (415) 476-7489.
