Print Version Vendor Hosts Party at Genentech Hall
White Star Café is hosting a casual get-together on Friday, Jan. 24 for all those moving to or working at Genentech Hall at the Mission Bay campus.
The "meet and greet" party, to be held from 3 to 5 p.m., is an opportunity for faculty and staff to sample appetizers and drink wine and beer.
"The White Star team is dedicated to the philosophy of 'good stuff from good people for good people,'" says Brooke Johnson, president of the local parent company Revival Mercantile, Inc.
White Star Catering, which was chosen by a campus committee consisting of faculty, staff and students, specializes in "seasonal, organic, all-American food," says Johnson.
Café operators, now working out of a second-floor space located in room 214 of Genentech Hall, opened earlier this month serving breakfast, lunch, snack foods and baked goods (see the menu).
They will eventually move into the second-floor café, which is scheduled to be completed in March.
The catering business, operating out of 2565 Third Street in San Francisco, is a woman-owned company. Those looking for dinner at Genentech Hall after 5 p.m. can order from White Star by 3 p.m. by calling 514-4114.
