    UCSF’s School of Pharmacy continues to rank # 1 in the country in a survey of best graduate schools conducted by U.S News & World Report and published in the April 7-14 edition of the magazine, available on newsstands March 31.
  • Best Graduate Schools: Nursing (US News & World Report)
    UCSF’s School of Nursing ranks # 2 among nursing programs in the U.S., and # 1 in the Adult Medical Surgical Nursing specialty nationwide in a survey of best graduate schools conducted by U.S News & World Report and published in the April 7-14 edition of the magazine, available on newsstands March 31.

  • Researchers Examine Impact of Exercise on Aging (The News Hour with Jim Lehrer)
    The News Hour reports: "Scientists have coined a new term -- geroscience -- to describe research that aims to slow down aging and delay the onset of age-related diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Researchers are studying the underlying genetic causes of aging and effects of exercise." Cynthia Kenyon, the Herbert Boyer Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics at UCSF, spoke on the News Hour yesterday about her success with dramatically extending the lifespan of a worm called C. elegans by suppressing one gene. --- Air Time: 6 PM
